It’s tea for three. Actually, four. And hot afternoons in California call for indoor parties. Unicorn is invited; and Brown Bear, too. Let’s not forget Kitty. There’s cream and sugar. But according to Chloe, there is salt and mustard as well. She’s a big mustard fan. Nothing warms my heart more than to watch her pretend play. There is so much learning in pretend play … she both imitates and imagines. She creates the world she wants to live in. She becomes who she wants to be. And there’s a twinkle in her eye, a sparkle in her smile. She’s the perfect hostess. And in moments like this, my heart swells to three times its size, and I know I don’t deserve her. Motherhood can be messy; it can be lonely and exhausting. But it can also be beautiful. It can give us these moments. These tiny, sweet moments that we hold in our memories forever.
This gorgeous tea set is from Joanna Gaine’s Hearth & Hand line at Target. It’s truly divine, with tiny wooden spoons and cloth napkins. A dream for little girls (and their mamas) everywhere.

So sweet 🙂
Hannah is a big mustard fan as well, which I think is a pretty bold taste for a toddler to enjoy, but I guess she’s not alone!
