There seems to be a trend sweeping through the parenting world right now … and it’s a good one! It’s the encouragement of kindness, and you can find it just about everywhere these days, from books and blogs to children’s clothing. I love seeing all the slogans such as “Kindness Matters” and “Be Kind” on t-shirts, hats and posters. But the truth is … teaching our kids to be kind is a process and takes commitment. We as parents have to demonstrate kindness in our own lives as we lead by example, and there are lots of ways we can help spark kindness in our kiddos! I decided to research a variety of ways that moms and dads could help toddlers and young kids learn about kindness and compassion. Kids love books, songs and movies so I incorporated all these things as well as ideas for practicing kindness at home. I hope these tools are helpful to you as you begin the commitment to raising kind, empathetic and compassionate kids!
I hope these resources will help and inspire you as a mama who wants to raise kind kids! If you have any ideas or other great resources, feel free to drop a comment!
xoxo,
Heidi
