This is not my first recipe using crescent roll dough! I just love this stuff ~ it’s so easy to create snacks, desserts and sides and all in about 15 minutes! This time, I’ve put together a dessert, but something that’s not too sweet to have for breakfast or brunch. It’s also Valentine’s themed, but can easily be adapted for just about any event! Okay, so are you ready for some buttery, flaky dough stuffed with strawberry cream, sprinkled with sugar and dipped in chocolate? Excellent. Let’s go!
Ingredients:
1 roll of crescent dough
About 10 medium size strawberries, chopped
4 oz. of cream cheese (room temperature)
1 TBSP sugar
1 C chocolate chips
1/4 C coconut oil
Instructions:
- Roll out your crescent roll dough and slice sheet into 4 long strips.
- Combine cream cheese, strawberry bits and sugar into a bowl using a hand-mixer.
- Spread the mixture onto each strip of dough and then roll. Do NOT overstuff the strips. A little goes a long way.
- This is the perfect time to create shapes or letters with the rolled pieces!
- Bake in oven for approx. 12 minutes.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
- Drizzle with chocolate OR use chocolate as a dipping sauce (to make chocolate, heat chips with coconut oil over low heat, stirring constantly.)
Enjoy!
xoxo,
Heidi
