Let’s talk playrooms! Before I had kids and even when they were babies, I was convinced I never wanted a playroom. I had only seen other families’ rooms that were jam packed with unused toys and so messy that it gave me anxiety! Fast forward a few years, and I suddenly found myself dreaming of having a play space for the girls. We keep our toys at a minimum, but even so, our fairly small tv room and my girls’ tiny bedrooms made for challenging toy storage. We also were gifted a beautiful play tent that we had no room for. Soooo I did what any good wife and mother would do. I kicked Eric out of his office and turned it into a beautiful playroom for my daughters! And here’s the thing … it doesn’t have a ton of toys in it! But it does provide a whimsical space for them to play, dream and learn. It houses a cozy book nook, the gold-star tent, a little kitchen and a few toy storage pieces. How will this space evolve over time? Not quite sure. Will it be a homeschooling room? A nursery for a future baby? All I know is that it’s perfect for the time being just the way it is, and I truly love the space. I’m pretty sure Chloe and Emelia love it, too.
Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
xoxo,
Heidi
The beautiful gold and white geometric wall paper is from D. Marie Interiors. It’s peel and stick, and was seriously a breeze to put up. I highly recommend this product.
The alphabet print on the shelf is from Olive & Eve Co. This print is perfect for decor, but it also doubles as a learning tool. I’ve seen other mamas use it with ABC crackers!
The framed MAGIC print is from The Ever Co. If you don’t know this little shop, you are truly missing out!
The Little Feminist Book Box is from Anthropologie, although I believe it’s available on Amazon.
The framed baby piece is from The Birth Poster and is one of the best keepsake items a parent could own in my opinion.
The sweet stuffed unicorn is from Cuddle & Kind. This shop has the most beautiful handmade stuffed dolls.
The peel and stick rainbows on the wall are from Etsy and were a steal! I got to customize my own colors which I loved.
The garland on the shelves (IKEA) is something I made myself! I purchased all materials at Hobby Lobby and went to town! I love the way it came out and it adds the perfect whimsical touch to the space.
All other items are from Target, TJ Maxx/Homegoods stores and Hobby Lobby. I absolutely love hunting for unique items and finding good deals! These are some of the best places to shop.
