Every holiday needs a party! We threw a little party for the girls and their closest friends to kick off the Halloween season, and it was oh so fun! The kiddos decorated little chocolate houses (we got the kits from Target and they were small and perfect!) and had a fun spooky-themed lunch. Short, sweet and simple.
The details and highlights:
We used all the fun Halloween sprinkle mixes from Sprinkle Pop Shop.
I had so much fun putting together the place settings using a base set from Banner & Bow and ghost plates and napkins from Ellie & Piper Co. The “BOO” straws came in our amazing Halloween box kits from The Holiday Co Shop.
I made my very first balloon garland using a trick to create custom colors. I stuck pink and orange balloons inside white balloons to get a matte, subtle-colored look. I draped a silver star garland from The Holiday Co Shop over the garland and finished it off with a gorgeous silver moon balloon from Ellie & Piper Co.
For the table centerpiece, I used a striped runner from The Holiday Co Shop and added roses in coordinating colors. I believe every party should have fresh florals! I added silver disco balls from Hobby Lobby and put our cookie pops from Frost Your Cookie into jars. I filled the jars with black beans and sprinkles.
I originally planned on hot-gluing chocolate graham crackers together in house shapes for the kids to decorate, but then I found the little kits from Target. They were so affordable, and I liked that they came with frosting.
For lunch we had “mummy hotdogs” (hotdogs wrapped in crescent roll dough strips), monster cheeses, ghost chips and “orange pumpkins.” Very kid-friendly and a breeze to prepare.
These DIY party hats were so fun to make! Grabbed this set of pink hats from Party City and added poms/tulle to the top and made pumpkin faces with sparkly paper/foam. So simple and so cute!
I absolutely love parties, and this was my first Halloween one. It was so fun to see my favorite kiddos come all dressed up and sneak bites of candy while decorating their houses. They created some fun memories together, and I loved setting the scene.
xoxo,
Heidi
