St. Patty’s Day is by no means a favorite holiday of mine, buuuut it is a fun day to celebrate with kids and any excuse to make brunch is fine by me! In fact, I’m a firm believer that any and every holiday is made better by the addition of a festive brunch! Also, Chloe came home from her St. Patrick’s Day party at school and could not stop talking about the sneaky leprochaun that left glitter footprints in the courtyard and turned their class milk green! It was so cute how much she enjoyed it all!
Of course I wanted a green-ish theme, but wanted to think outside the box a bit. No green eggs and ham for us! I went with a spinach quiche that both my girls actually tried and one enjoyed, a green apple Dutch baby, healthy green smoothies, Lucky Charms and a rainbow spread of fruit. I also sprinkled pistachios around the table because we are all big fans of them and they’re green!
I spread butcher paper on the table so we could color with green crayons and I used gold accents instead of green for things like napkins, straws and plate chargers.
Hubby ended up having to run into work, so it was just us girls enjoying this huge spread! We indulged ourselves with extra whipped cream on just about everything!
I hope this inspires you to make brunch! Whether it’s a holiday or not, brunch brightens up any day 🙂
xoxo,
Heidi
